Life…

Time seemed get away from me this past week, I did manage to cross a few things off my list. I’ve bought the Christmas ham (this is a bigger achievement than it sounds), I sent off my Aussie Readers + Bloggers Secret Santa gift to my match (I hope she likes it), I got my oldest daughter’s Christmas present (so that makes a grand total of 1/12), and completed some chores around the house I’ve put off for too long (have I mentioned I hate housework), but now I’m a little behind on my reading, and writing reviews. It’s always a trade-off!

What I’m Reading This Week

A Madness of Sunshine by Nalini Singh

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh welcomes you to a remote town on the edge of the world where even the blinding brightness of the sun can’t mask the darkness that lies deep within a killer…

On the rugged West Coast of New Zealand, Golden Cove is more than just a town where people live. The adults are more than neighbors; the children, more than schoolmates.

That is until one fateful summer—and several vanished bodies—shatters the trust holding Golden Cove together. All that’s left are whispers behind closed doors, broken friendships, and a silent agreement not to look back. But they can’t run from the past forever.

Eight years later, a beautiful young woman disappears without a trace, and the residents of Golden Cove wonder if their home shelters something far more dangerous than an unforgiving landscape.

It’s not long before the dark past collides with the haunting present and deadly secrets come to light

The Fallout by Rebecca Thornton

Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has a secret.

I only took my eyes off him for a second.

One little mistake is all it takes . . .

When Sarah forgets to check on her best friend’s little boy, distraction turns to disaster. And she’s faced with a dilemma.

Tell the truth, lose a friend.

Tell a lie, keep her close.

In a split second, Sarah seals her fate. But accidents have aftershocks, and lies have consequences. And when it’s someone else’s child, the rumours are quick to multiply.

Everyone’s talking about what happened. And sooner or later, the truth will have to come spilling out…

But he can’t escape his past.

  1. Glad you got your xmas shopping done. Yesterday would have been ideal shopping day, if it wasn’t snowing in minnesota, darn.

  2. I have a ton of things on my list as well. It seems that I am busy all day but barely get anything done. Hate that. To be honest, I wish December would be over already… I feel so out of control with the open wall in my bathroom.

  3. I’m glad you got to read Inheritance. I know it is widely loved. I have added it to my TBR.

December is always a crazy busy month. I’m trying to prepare by relaxing this weekend with the Thankfully Reading Weekend. Don’t forget that the BINGO game is open worldwide! Join in if you get a little time, and add your name to the Linky. Although your day is almost over there, I think!

    Have a great week.

  4. I’m feeling waaaay behind because we had company all last week and then I head out of town a week from today. I’ve got so much to do! We’re going to start our decorating today and I have bought a few gifts.

  5. It’s amazing how time flies by when you’re trying to get things accomplished. I wish there were more hours in the day. At least you got a few things checked off.

I can’t wait to read A Madness of Sunshine. I need some time to squeeze it in this week! 🙂

  7. Glad you got some good reading done during Thankfully Reading and it looks like your upcoming books are good too. I haven’t wrapped my head around the idea that it’s December!

  8. We’ve barely begun buying gifts. But I do have Christmas dinner planned (ha ha). The Madness of Sunshine sounds really good. Hope my library has it.

  9. Even though I am no longer working I still feel like I’m always behind. Never seems to be enough hours to spend on writing reviews or commenting on other blogs…. I did manage to buy two small presents today. I’m going to take the approach that if I see something and I think its suitable, I will buy it – instead of walking away thinking I might see something even nicer…..

  10. LOL!! I love that ecard!!
Yes!! It always feels like you’ll catch up on one thing.. and fall behind on the next. That’s just life I guess. Frustrating really!
Have a great week and happy reading!

  11. The day to day things are often the hardest to fit in. I swear I live at the grocery store lately.

The Fallout sounds like it will be a great book. Hope you enjoy all your reading.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

  12. Oh my gosh I am so behind as well! I entertained my niece the other day, and she and my son made salt dough ornaments together. Then I made a crazy big dinner for my mom who came to help, and there went my Monday. Lol. But Thanksgiving week put me behind on blogging. And housekeeping.

Hope you find some you time this week!
