Reading Challenges for 2015

I’ve committed to six reading challenges for 2015.

Click on the badges for more details about each.

The Goodreads Challenge 2015

SNAG-0000

I’m aiming for 253 books in 2015 (one more than last year)

*****

The Eclectic Reader Challenge 2015

eclecticreader15

In it’s fourth year, the aim of The Eclectic Reader Challenge is to push you outside your comfort zone by reading up to 12 books during the year from 12 different categories. I host this one, so of course I will be participating as well.

2015 Australian Women Writers Challenge

aww-badge-2015

I’ve been a co host for this challenge since its inception. The goal is simple enough; to read books written by Australian women. Though there are a number of challenge levels I always set my own goal and this year I’m aiming for 50 again.

Around the World in 12 Books Challenge 2015

around the world 2015

I’ve added this challenge to my yearly staple list because I like having the motivation to read books set in different countries. The idea is to read up to 12 books over the course of the year, which should include ones set in Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia+New Zealand, North America and South America. The Middle East should be considered too

Aussie Author Challenge 2015

Another staple challenge, I keep up with this one to make sure I read at least a few books by Aussie men.

What’s in a Name? Challenge

Each year I choose one new challenge just for fun. The What’s in a Name Challenge only requires you to choose a book to read from each of the six categories given, it should be fairly easy to complete this one.

How are you challenging yourself in 2015?

  1. I haven’t signed up for Goodreads yet, and I failed miserably at my goal in 2014 but I did sign up for Aus Women Writers Challenge, I think I went for 50… here’s hoping I get there. The bulk of my reading of late seems to fit the challenge so I’m hoping.

  2. I’m still deciding whether to sign up for challenges this year. I’ll definitely sign up for the Australian Women Writers Challenge, but I’m pondering what else. I’m terrible at keeping track of my progress, so I don’t want to take on too much. I am also planning to challenge myself to re-read many of my Terry Pratchett books. (PS There isn’t a link in the image for the Aussie Author Challenge 2015) 🙂

  3. I wish I had more time for reading challenges, or the patience really. I do one as part of our Aussie YA group, but also doing a diversity one this year. I like the more laid back and relaxed challenges where I can pick and choose at my own pace. You’ll have to keep us updated on your progress. No doubt you’ll kill it ❤

  4. I have to admit I’ve not committed to anything. Is it bad that I really can’t find the energy to learn about about each to make a decision?! (Argh – it’s only January!)
