My Thoughts:

Day-Walker is the second short story I have read from Nicki J Markus, Dragon’s Heart was surprisingly engaging though just 33 pages long, so I was willing to take a chance on this longer novella when she requested a review.

Essentially a paranormal romance, Day-Walker also has a bit of action and suspense. Will is the centuries old Vampire who has the rare ability to tolerate sunlight, Darci is the pretty twenty something modern girl who can’t resist his dark and brooding good looks. There is nothing particularly original about the plot, which is fairly standard for the genre, but it is solid, well paced and more importantly, well written.

Markus is proving to be a talented writer who has both the technical and creative aspects of writing firmly in hand. So far she has concentrated on the shorter formats of storytelling but I hope she soon finds the inspiration to write a full length novel which I know I will be happy to read.

An engaging tale, Day-Walker would be a great choice for paranormal romance fans looking for a quick and satisfying read.
